Give me a break. Now don’t get me wrong, I despise Bush, but this is not something to get too upset about: 1. He could have just pardoned him, which is what most presidents have chosen to do in similar circumstances. 2. By only commuting his sentence, Libby must still pay a $250k fine, he must serve his probation time, and he is not exonerated from guilt (which means he will almost certainly be disbarred). I’m not saying what Bush chose to do is fine and dandy, but it’s also not anything terribly egregious.
