The First Amendment Project

The First Amendment Project: Fox vs. Franken
Directed by Chris Hegedus and Nick Doob
Premieres December 7th, 9:00pm on Sundance
Directed by Chris Hegedus and Nick Doob. FOX vs. Franken looks at the story behind Fox Television's legal efforts to halt publication of Al Franken's book Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. Beginning with Franken's comic account of his inspiration in writing the book, the film mixes humor with its lucid account of the case's First Amendment underpinnings.

In the Still Life, Photographs by Charles H. Traub, Introduction by Luigi Ballerini. New York: The Quantuck Lane Press, 2004.
(distributed by W.W.Norton & Company, Inc.)
A photographic narrative on the human condition. Pictures taken "on the fly" in the course of twenty years of encounters with the human comedy compose this witty and anecdotal scenario.
Luigi Ballerini in his introduction points out that Traub is always
questioning whether God is playing dice with the universe. Things happen, people collide and improbable juxtapositions are snapped at a fraction of a second. Traub is sure his encounters with the absurdities of our everyday lives, whether in Tokyo or Rio, New York or Tel Aviv, are far more interesting than anything that might be contrived before the camera's lens. Could it all be just chance, a throw of the dice?
Or, is the "great power" positioning us like objects in a still life?
Charles H. Traub is represented by: Gitterman Gallery, 170 East 75th
Street, New York NY 10021, 212.734.0868.
