Can even an omnipotent God forgive Korn for sucking so supremely?

Korn guitarist finds God, leaves band

NEW YORK (Billboard) -- Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has parted ways with the hard rock act, citing a recent religious awakening.

Welch broke the news Sunday on Bakersfield, California, station KRAB-FM.

"I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you," Welch said. "I'm good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they're very happy for me."

Addressing the aggressive tone of the music he made with Korn, Welch said, "Anger is a good thing, and if kids want to listen to Korn, good, but there's happiness after the anger. I'm going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans."

Welch added that he would be appearing at a local church on February 27, during which time he would "speak (about) how I got to this place in my life, and I'll answer all your questions."

On its official Web site (http://www.korn.com), Korn's remaining members said they respect Welch's wishes and hope "he finds the happiness he is searching for." The group is in the studio working on a new album, due in September, which will be its first since fulfilling its contract with Epic last year.

For now, no replacement for Welch has been named, nor has a new label home for the band.

hey fuckers i dont know what kind of shit u listen to but koRn kicks its ass

Wake up people. If you didn't watch these crap tv shows you wouldn't know that your favorite bands(who suck ass) were featured. Drop the hipper than thou act and shut the fuck up.

H.,

Thanks. :)

It's pretty sad when my sister, who currently resides in Beverly Hills, thinks she is hip because now she knows who Ben Gibbard is.

I will admit, and this is quite embarassing, to have watched an episode of the show right when it first came out. It isn't good at all. It's really... just plain stupid. "All My Children" for bleached-blonde 7th graders.

jamie,
i hear ya. the fact that bands like death cab and the shins are now termed "oc rock" is upsetting. and i sat through an episode of that show; it isn't even any damn good.
rock on.

Hey H.,

Call me out of "the times" or not with it... but I guess I AM a little old-fashioned...

I just like the idea of music not being put on crappy cable TV show soundtracks or being whored on the OC. I like the idea of art without... the bullshit of a trend.

But, hey, now everything that was once anti-establishment is on a car commercial.

In my mind, that's NEVER going to be "okay".

yeah, two years ago a friend went to a white stripes show and told me the frat kids were moshing to "hotel yorba."

and when i saw versus on new year's eve at northsix, there were frat boys yelling at the stage, and slow dancing and alternately grinding with their bleached-hair dates to the mellower songs.

you know what, i have nothing against these kids, live and let live, but once upon a time you'd go to a show, and the boys stood with their hands in hoodie pockets, and the girls were pretty with their joan jett hair. (i know, that's sooo emo. dance punk shows aren't like that at all.)

the shins and pj harvey and yo la tengo are on the gilmour girls soundtrack. i guess that's fine. get with the times. but i miss thinking that it's not fine, is all.

the goons have been showing up to modest mouse shows for years guys, sorry. lets just hope we can keep all the "mooks" outta the baitshop. rock on

To H.,

Damn. Your post really upset me. Damn...

What a sad and terrifying concept.

To Alex,

You're right. Very right. Hopefully all of the moronic youth will fall into the arms of Atreyu and not Modest Mouse, as H. thought.

I think Korn have had well over thier 15 minutes. I wish that "thing"(Linkin Park, Disturbed etc etc) would just go away. But then again bands like Atreyu have been quick to sweep up the same types. I think that is pretty evident by any Mall in the country. So from one crappy band passes the torch to another. Circle of life kids, circle of life....

but then, all the mooks moshing to slipknot right now will have nothing to go see live, so they will start moshing at modest mouse and postal service shows. be careful what you wish for...

This is the most amazing thing to happen to me in months. I am so truly happy. I want to frolic in the wildflowers. I want to hand out free money. I want to fly to the moon. This is amazing. Maybe... Maybe... Maybe now Korn will just END. And then, maybe LINKIN PARK will and then... maybe ATREYU and then... maybe TAKING BACK SUNDAY and then maybe SLIPKNOT... This is great. Wow.... Wow. ***Cries softly while staring at the clouds**
