It's Religious Freaky Friday..... another freaky religion story

Mel Gibson to film the Pope's story

Mel Gibson is reportedly set to turn Pope John Paul II's story into a Hollywood movie. The New York Post reports Gibson has already filmed the ending to the movie. He also reportedly despatched a production crew to Rome to film the pope's funeral. Gibson, a devote Roman Catholic, last year enjoyed one of Hollywood's biggest box-office hits with The Passion of Christ. (from Ananova)

i heard it is going to be a porno. totally dudical.

Jesus was Mr. Bottom Line, I'll have you know.

Awesome, Mel. Definitely the best way to dignify the pope, a figure of piety who spoke out against consumerism and decadence, is to create a Hollywood spectacle about his life. Oh, wait, you already did that with the Passion. Jesus would have been ALL about the entertainment industry, man.

Pat,

Suck it...

Kidding, seriously, did you expect me to write a 1,000 explanation on a blog? Watch the film. Ostensibly, the film portrays all non-jews in the film as sympathetic characters, Pilate, etc. The Romans actually did the killing. The film shows Pontius Pilate as nothing more than a political scapegoat. While true to a certain extent, there was much more to it than that. The Passion also shows Christ as a young Catholic. Example, when Christ is talking to John "The Beloved Disciple" he says (referring to his mother, Mary) "This is your mother." Mary was not the mother of John the beloved disciple. In fact Christ refers to Mary as a sort of "Everyone's mother" a few times in the film. So, it's not only jew bashing, but offensive to most of the protestant denominations as well. Methodists and Lutherans do not refer to Mary as the Holy Mother for sure. Too bad all the Baptists were not observant enough to catch the Catholic dogma implied. To them it was just, "Hey, y'all it's Jesus on the big screen!

Oh yeah, I don't regurgitate bullshit, pizza maybe, but never bullshit.

Thanks for being specific Wilson.I haven't seen the Passion and have no interest in seeing it. I just wanted to see if you were expressing an informed opinion or just spouting regurgitated bullshit. Think I have my answer.

Dear me... Mel, Mel, Mel... You silly communist, you...

Anonymous,

You're right, the treatment of the jewish people was completely even handed. What was I thinking?

Anonymous? Are you Pat Buchanan by any chance?

What an outrage! A story about the Pope! Unfucking beleivable!

Demean jews? Can you explain exactly where in the Passion of Christ jews were demeaned. Be specific.

sheeesh... I wonder how he will manage to demean jews with this one? I have faith he will find a way.

oh boy.
