Martin Luther Bush
Bush on his lack of support among African Americans.
"I was disappointed, frankly, in the vote I got in the African American community." [article here]
This ranks among the most comical statements of his career. Get a clue, Dubya. Maybe repealing your tax cuts on the wealthy would have helped. Or rethinking the inept No White Child Left Behind initiative. Or ending your vacation in the wake of Katrina. Or how about having your mom apologize for this statement:
"And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."
[Cracker]

Maybe you should spend less time railing against the system and call your dad once in a while. As for me I will contact my "friend" GW and try to devise more ways to sell out the little guy. Peace.

Ok, Personal attacks it is then.
Joe,
I know it must be comforting for you to decide who someone is (arriving at, once again, the most cliche stereotypes around-- you should write for TV) and dismiss them, but:
I'm not hitting on undergrads. I'm 32, from a working-class town in Pennsylvania, made my own way to NYC because it is the capital city of Planet Earth, and I love it here. I don't have a "daddy," I've got a drunk father I barely talk to.
I'm quite grown up, thanks. And I know how the money and politics play together to (try to) keep me ignorant and quiet. But I've got a brain and, you know, functional eyes, and I can see what the deal is.
I know you'd like me to shut up, so I'm gonna just keep yapping. Just to piss you (and your good friend the President) off.

Ben your whole schtick is cliche. Do you think waxing Marx on a blog site is original. Your bullshit may woo some liberal arts undergrad bitch but is unworthy of serious discussion. Crawl out of your daddy's coat pocket and grow the fuck up.

Joe--
Do you even LIVE in this city? "Bowery bum"? Have you looked at the Bowery lately? Cla--see all the way. There ain't no bums there. Your tired (so... very... tired...) cliche sucks.
And I'm not talking some corporate widget pulling down six figures. I'm talking about that richest 1%, and the folks who think they have a chance at joining them selling you, me, Joe, hell, the entire readership of FREEWilliamsburg out for just one more stolen dollar.
Face it, Joe. You can't afford to be a bum on the Bowery anymore. And, to the current administration, we're ALL bums.

Grow up, realize that everything Ben tells you was lifted verbatim from a schizophrenic bowery bum.

"The rich pay, essentially no taxes". Just curious, who exactly are you referring to when you say "rich"? Are you suggesting that The CEO of Fortune 500 company, clearing $200,000 a year is paying no income tax? Exactly what are you basing this on?

Quoted from Anonymous' post of 5:26PM:
"Duh. The rich get tax cuts because the rich pay taxes. Poor people pay no taxes. Thus, no cuts. It's not that difficult to understand."
You are an idiot. The rich pay, essentially, no taxes. The poor pay *some* taxes. Most of the tax revenue is generated by the ever-shrinking "middle class."
If you honestly think the thug robber barons who cheated, lied, mangled, murdered and schemed their way up the socio-economic ladder did it with any intention of handing over any of their money to a government that-- hey! turns out the goverment is run by... RICH PEOPLE!! Rock out! They don't pay dick. Between off-shore accounts, corporations "headquartered" in the Bahamas, and the fact that they run the place, they aren't paying one red cent in taxes.
Grow up, realize that everything you've ever been told about your government is a bald-faced lie, and stop defending the people who see you as a resource to be exploited and then thrown away.

Yes I got a tax cut. After doing the numbers, it amounted to about a $1.50 per week. Now I can live the high life! Thanks George for your generous tax cut!

Duh. The rich get tax cuts because the rich pay taxes. Poor people pay no taxes. Thus, no cuts. It's not that difficult to understand.

Freewilliamsburg -
Did you get a tax cut? Do you consider yourself rich? If everyone pays taxes and everyone gets a tax cut, how is that a tax cut only for the rich? Isn't that a tax cut for everyone? Of course, this excludes those who pay no taxes, but receive the Earned Income Tax Credit.
