Bush Spent $1.6 Billion on GOP Propaganda
In addition to the $250,000 given to Armstrong Williams to promote No Child Left Behind, here's what you money bought [from Adweek]:
A Food and Drug Administration contract had the objective of warning the public about the "consequences and potential dangers of buying prescription drugs from non-U.S. sources.""expert advice and support in the development of several marriage-related research initiatives"
an educational campaign regarding the "Medicare Modernization Act, and its coverage and benefits"
a contract regarding "message development that presents the Army's strategic perspective in the global war on terrorism"

Armstrong Williams - clearly wrong. Inexcusable. But that's not the one you cited above. As for PHARMA, etc. they give an excessive amount to Rs and Ds. My point is that the FDA is charged with protecting the drug supply, approving new drugs, overseeing current ones, etc. Surely part of that is to warn consumers about drugs oversees that have NOT had the benefit of FDA oversite.

Roy Van Dyke-
What about the $250,000 given to Armstrong Williams? And the GOP has its head so deeply up the asses of the pharmaceutical companies, it's difficult to argue that they're looking out for the American public. The pharmaceutical companies just want to keep a monopoly on their prices by blocking competition. And the GOP wants to keep their campaign donations from the pharmacetical industry flowing.

The only Propoganda is on this site. Educating the public about not buying bogus drugs in Mexico and Canada seems like a public safety issue. Not to mention that doing so is a violation of FDA law. Informing consumers of upcoming changes in Medicare eligibility which could impact their benefits also seems like a good idea. The other two, you may have something. Although promoting marriage is the fed govt's stated policy through numerous statutes, programs, etc. You don't like the policy, but that doesnt mean its propoganda.
FREEWILLIAMSBURG - looking forward to seeing you on Friday.
