Check it out: Rob Crow at Southpaw tonight
Rob Crow’s latest solo record, “Living Well,” will surprise his fans for one huge reason: it’s really good. While Crow has always put his best efforts in to his work with bands like Pinback and Heavy Vegetable, most of his solo albums have been slapdash affairs; he’s been up front in the past about how they serve as venues for him to be goofy and blow off steam. The new record is stripped down, simple, and intensely personal, chronicling Crow’s relationship with his wife and child. But don’t fret, math rock fans – there are still plenty of weird time structures for your nerdy enjoyment.
