Uh, because the media represents the interest of the capitalist oligarchs who are far more threatened by a Black preacher going off about the evils of American empire than they are about some creepy pastor who's got a boner for Israel (who, last time I checked, was a major ally of said capitalist oligarchs, no?).

There is a difference between being a regular parishioner at Wright's church and either endorsing Wright's veiws or dissembling about being unaware of them, and being in a photo-op or two with Hagee, as McCain was.
