Hillary's Base

We've been to West Virginia many times and are happy to report that there are lots of smart, progressive people there. Despite what you've heard, not everyone there is a racist redneck. That's just Hillary's base: [via Rumproast]

While we're on the subject, this video (if you missed it) is even more disturbing.

What happened to Hillary's happy supporters:

The good news is, despite her victory yesterday, Obama just picked up more superdelegates.

Comments

Yes, it is racist for a white person to not want a black person to be president(just because they are black). No, it's not racist for a black person to want another black person to be president. There has never been a black president, and there have been maybe 10 black persons as senators and/or governors in the history of the USA. It's more about representation for a disenfranchised community. To reiterate, a vote for Obama by a black person is not a vote because of a desire to keep another race down.
In any case that's beside the point because exit polls clearly state that Hillary supporters to a much larger extent consider race to be a factor in voting. i.e. The black community isn't necessarily voting for him just because he's black. But Hillary is quite obviously pandering, and it aint to them.

i don't care if people vote for obama because he's black or hilary because she's a woman. that is not the same as voting against them. and what is really disturbing about the video isn't that they would vote for clinton, but that self-professed proud lifelong democrats would rather vote -republican- than vote black. that's pretty intense. any of the people you think are voting obama because he's black are -not- thinking of voting for mccain if hilary gets the nomination. and unfortunately, that is exactly why hilary sees no reason to try to win any black votes.

as for that prohilary video, i'm disturbed they had to plagiarize the jackson 5 in order to write a totally shitty song campaign song.

For the record, the results from Berkeley County where this video was shot were:

Clinton 54%
Obama 40%
Edwards 6%

The state overall:
Clinton 67%
Obama 26%
Edwards 7%

If your trying to frame Hillary's supporters as racists, lets not forget that many of Barack's supporters from the black community are voting for him because he IS black, which is no different than what is happening in West Virginia. Why don't you post a video of all the black people in South Carolina voting for Barack and ask them why they're voting for him.

Actually, the Hillary4U&Me guy did another video, but nobody paid much attention to it. It was just bad, not so bad it was good kinda bad.

Regarding the "smart, progressive people" of West Virginia, I'm glad all 17 of them came out to vote for Obama. ;)
