Sarah Palin's Favorite Band

[Thanks Rockman]

Joe Klein, Via Rumproast

There is a tendency in the media to kick ourselves, cringe and withdraw, when we are criticized. But I hope my colleagues stand strong in this case: it is important for the public to know that Palin raised taxes as governor, supported the Bridge to Nowhere before she opposed it, pursued pork-barrel projects as mayor, tried to ban books at the local library and thinks the war in Iraq is “a task from God.” The attempts by the McCain campaign to bully us into not reporting such things are not only stupidly aggressive, but unprofessional in the extreme.
And let's not forget, this Jeebusy lightweight even opposes abortion in the case of rape. The McCain who used to call religious wackos "agents of intolerance" has clearly morphed into the type of candidate who would malign his own mother to get into office.

Most of those accusations are simply untrue. It's true that she is against abortion in ALL cases, but some of your other facts are grossly untrue. You should check out this non-partisan website ( FACTCHECK.ORG ) that clears up some of the lies about candidates on BOTH SIDES of the political spectrum. Her quote about the Iraqi War being a "mission from God" is taken out of context. She explained that in her interview with Charlie Gibson on ABC. Also, she did NOT raise taxes in Alaska and the claim that she has tried to ban books has been proven to be a ridiculous ploy to attack her. Some of the books she was accused of trying to ban (Harry Potter) were not even published at the time of the ALLEGED incident.

Along with Sarah Palin's other negative conservative aspects, I think it's important that people know the woman never had a passport until last year! That means she never travelled outside the U.S. until a trip to Kuwait in 2007 to visit members of the Alaskan National Guard. That's it! How can you elect someone who has no idea about the world outside of America. If she knew what people in other countries think of America right now, she'd feel worse about being a Republican.

Americans get it all wrong when they vote for the people "just like them" (hockey moms) We need people representing us that are BETTER than us. Meaning, more intelligent, more experienced, and more worldly.
