it makes a lot more sense if you think about it sociolinguistically instead of sociologically. that said, the term 'hipster' is already retro, and the idea that it is defining the 'indie generation' (what the?) is completely unexplained by this lady. if anything this generation is incapable of being 'indie' because capitalism has ruined us all. i miss the 'what is punk' debates myself.
