Ninjasonik - "Art School Girls"
AHAHHAHAHHA!
Ninjasonik is awesome, but their new video is sort of not OK. I've found myself watching it on loop all day, wondering whether it's funny or awful. Is Jah Jah being ironic? Is he finding irony ironic? Does he really like art school girls and their unkemp hair and their canvas stretching? Or is he mocking?
Such an enigma.

jah jah loves all kind of girls. And he never really looks like that in person! He's streetweared out and usally has a dope cap on.

considering his own aesthetic, though i base that totally on this video, the retro character of his music and his own glasses, if he's mocking those girls, he's opening himself up to a lot of his own criticism.
that said, whether it's ironic or not, it's of the 'songs about girls, not a girl but girls in general' variety that mainstream pop-punk (oh, i mean, 'emo') crap boy bands trade in and it was a tired point of view even when those 80's fashions were where they belonged, the 80's.
