Brooklyn Brat Pack Mashup
What does one long weekend and the best rooftop in Williamsburg get you? A summer kickoff music video to end all. A tribute to a tribute, inspired by the Youtube bratpack mashup video set to the tune of Phoenix's Lisztomania, the soon to be omnipresent (if not already) summer jam.
The Original Mashup
I think director Ian Parker explained the reasoning behind the tribute to the tribute best: We did it for the summer, for friends, sunsets, and social propaganda experiments, for the sake of global cultural education. and pop music.

On 18 June 2009 Phoenix played Williamsburg - and played Lisztomania to our rooftop hipsters. A circle is complete.

I'm at work at 6AM and the first thing I do now is play this video. It puts in a great frame of mind and sets the tone for the day. I rate this a "G" for grrrrrrrrrreat!.
thanks

Yesterday, I had this vision of a moderately crowded subway car where someone had a boombox going. First, everyone kind of looked annoyed when they stepped on, but when the doors slid closed, they got up and started dancing--the hipsters, the business suit crowd, the Park Slope moms, the homeless people, etc. I'd like to see that one realized. I love these two videos.
