UFO's Spotted Over Brooklyn (w/ video)
From the esteemed alien spacecraft-spotting website LATEST-UFO-SIGHTINGS.net (creed: only real and true latest UFO sightings) comes reports of not one but TWO unknown objects spotted over Brooklyn sometime on Monday night! Aliens!!
A YouTube user who has favorited quite a shit ton of UFO clips writes, "Spotted from my backyard in williamsburg. I watched for about 40 min. so i could tell they were moving but very slowly. They sort of looked like stars but were hanging too low and the blue one was a bit too sparkly."
Here's video
:
That's not all! The very next night, the same YouTube user uploaded the video UFO Brooklyn Jan 26th with the description: "Something odd floating in the skies over bushwick." The video shows what basically looks like a star with some auto-focusing effects making it a tad crazy. But I dunno. Star? Or alien spacecraft. One commenter isn't sold. Or maybe he is? His comment is confusing! "i know what it's not but i can't tell you what is... sorry. it's not a star thats for sure."
One thing I'm not for sure of definitely is that it's definitively not what it is, rather, isn't what it's not. Which isn't not what you think it is, star gazers, but what you don't think it isn't being what it is.

i filmed them. sorry the focus is so bad. i had been seeing these things for about 2 months so i borrowed a very crappy camera from work to get a better look. a friend loaned me the tape so i recorded. its not mars for very many reasons... most of all because a professor of astronomy at colombia univ said it was unidentified. watch the CW11 news report from thursday night. also, i'm using a 5 year old panasonic lccd camera in the middle of nyc so i would imagine its not able to pick up celestial objects unless they are very well lit, large and hurling straight for us. lets hope its not mars. i'm almost 39 so i'm not a hipster (not that i have a problem with them) and i'm a girl so i don't waste my time by playing with light-up toys and hoaxing people. i filmed them on the 25th, 26th, 27th, 29th and 31st.
i don't know what it is... but i can tell you what its not.

In some portions of the video it looks like the object is spinning rapidly. I wish there was a clearer shot of it to identify it properly. This was all over the local news. Any idea how many people saw it? Color me intrigued.

1. There is nothing to place the shot, no buildings, trees, wires, etc., only black around the edge, no clouds or airplanes or stars. This doesn't fit well with Brooklyn.
2. The flicker across the image seems to be from screen refresh being out of sync with the video capture device.
3. I would say this is a recording of a small, maybe 150x140 pixel image on a HD computer monitor with a low-megapixel recording device.

The object is truly unidentified - because it is too far away from the camera to identify it. There is nothing about the object to indicate that it is behaving strangly. When a photographer uses the telephoto lense to bring in an object closer it distorts the object being recorded and make it look like something it is not. Perhaps they will come closer. Use a tripod so the image doesnt jurk around. This is just to far away to determine anything -- but it doesnt mean you are drunk. Carry on your serious research as there are truly UFOs out there though we dont really know what they are.

it doesn't look fake, it just looks like mars. not an iridium flare though. it lasts too long.

You can clearly hear the sound of an airliner within the first minute of video.

In completely unrelated news, Mars is currently at its closest approach to Earth until 2014.
Blue one is still definitely a UFO though. Or an Iridium flare.
