Last Friday Deafheaven and Indian Jewelry co-headlined the Pitchfork/Weird Northside Festival showcase at Saint Vitus Bar in Greenpoint. While knowing well in advance what kind of blistering sonic bliss to expect from Deafheaven, Indian Jewelry’s strobe infused tribaldelia won us over by complete surprise. Check out some videos from the show below.
Experimental and avant-garde outfit “Den Svarta Fanan” will be at The Acheron on June 20. The annual Bushwick Open Studios art exhibit is happening again this weekend. Check out the full schedule here.
On a personal note, a friend talked me into participating myself. 308 Jefferson in Bushwick turns it’s 4-story hallway into a huge art exhibit, with the 4th floor being dedicated to (((unartig))) screenings. Be prepared for a sweltering and non air conditioned sweat fest that starts at noon.
Ende Tymes “Festival of Noise and Experimental Liberation” is happening this weekend at Secret Project Robot in Bushwick and Outpost Artists Resources in Ridgewood. As a matter of fact, it started already last night. Here’s a clip of Lussuria’s performance.
More performances and details about the remaining days below. (more…)
