WE SAY: Since July 1999, many in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area have adopted Enid's as a home away from home. From young hipsters to Polish Seniors, laptop junkies to dogs, this spacious bar takes all and is never too crowded. From 5pm -4am, seven days a week, Enid's serves up the sauce with great atmosphere and no pretense-- and at half price during happy hour (5-7). Boasting eight taps, eleven bottled beers, wine, standard liquors, and of course The Harrison-- Enid's house special, loaded with tequila and juices packed into a hefty pint glass-- Enid's leaves no one thirsty. (Unless you drink Coors Light.) Dinner is served nightly, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm Enid's is packed for brunch, offering hearty, home-style plates with a southern twist and weekly pancake specials. DJs spin toward the end of the week, Mondays and Tuesdays host movie nights, and Sunday evenings wind down with Degrassi High up on the screen. A great juke box, Ms Pacman/Galaga, and a photobooth should keep you busy otherwise. So eat brunch, put a couple back, hit the photobooth and send a saucy pic home to mama.
From NY Mag: Enid's sits at the handy nexus of Williamsburg, Greenpoint and allegedly trendy "East Williamsburg." That positioning allows locals and across-the-water friends to storm through: the Williamsburg kids complaining about the East Village, the Greenpointers carping about Williamsburg and the East Siders talking smack about all of the above. But that DJ's a uniter, not a divider. There's plenty of thrift--salvaged seating, and ample window space makes it easy to play "spot the local" or "name that look." The boys are all cute in that skinny, squeeze-him-till-he-breaks kind of way; the girls just wanna ride their pony-print shirts into an airbrushed '80s sunset.
From City Search
"When you think of Williamsburg--painters in splattered jeans, indie-rock kids, lots of Herzog fans--you're basically thinking of Enid's. Though it's technically in an area that bleeds over into Greenpoint, this neighborhood bar plays home to all the characters who make Williamsburg so downright hip. Leavened with drinkers who are cool on the inside, it's a comfortable stop for all. Enid's is exceptionally large for a New York bar. On weeknights, there's plenty of room to wiggle around; on weekends the crowd will keep your wiggling to a minimum. The flea-market couches and scattered tables and chairs make up the understated decor, though a big wall-hanging camel made out of gold sequins adds flair. Also check out the consistently bumping pinball machine and even a bowling game. Drink-wise, Enid's keeps it simple, with an adequate stock of liquors at fair neighborhood-bar prices."

From Paper.
"If you build it, they will come. Even if you build it in Greenpoint. The kids drag their cool asses to Enid's by the truckload from both Manhattan and Williamsburg. Why? The place is huge, you're usually guaranteed a seat, it's $3 and up for a beer, and the kitchen serves up hot Southern cooking. See you there"

Enid's is a great place for a drink..and food if it leads to that. Its crowd is a little too hipster-y at times, but for the most part, Enid's has great prices, good food and service, and great candlelit atmosphere, whether you're on a date or hanging out with friends....Try the vintage photo booth too!

Bloody Mary - good when available /
Grits - apparently fat-free = gross /
Collard Greens - sadly too salty to eat /
Fried Chicken - said to be good /
Meatloaf - forgettable
