NY MAG SAYS: Soon after Lower East Side rock dive Luna Lounge suffered death by condo in 2005, owner Rob Sacher and wife Susan took their act to Williamsburg and converted a parking garage into a state-of-the-art concert hall. Though entry is no longer free (until after the show), drinks have stayed surprisingly cheap. The mid-size space, with a 300-person capacity (somewhere between Mercury Lounge and Bowery Ballroom), is a much-needed addition to local, indie-rock venueland. With its smart floor plan providing fine views from anywhere in the room, a generously proportioned stage, and its warmly textured gray walls, this is certainly no McClub. The softly lit wooden bar flanked by giant, room-expanding mirrors might get overwhelmed during large shows, but a slew of elevated sideline banquettes make up for any inconveniences.
