NY MAG SAYS: Like a homesteader who finally landed a house on Main Street, the owner of Williamsburg's almost impossibly out-of-the way dive Rockstar Bar has set up a second joint just two blocks from the Bedford Avenue subway stop. Given the prime location, you’d think that this cozy, red-and-brown candy-striped room would teem with the young and fashionable. But Cyn, like its predecessor Rain Lounge, is a chasm in the middle of the swirling hipness that surrounds. Aside from the replacement of the former tenant's hip-hop soundtrack with an internet jukebox and DJ's spinning rock, little has changed. Amidst the dim red lighting and the modest crowds, you come here not because you want to join the see-and-be-seen carnival outside, but because you want to escape it with a $2 Pabst in the spacious back garden

We went to this place after passing it a couple of times. Went to Williamsburg to see Warren G in concert got there around 8 pm but he didnt perform till 12 so we needed a place to chill for a few hours. Our first impression was "what a dump" but that's the theme. We owned the place, made friends (were from the island) and it was like we were regulars. I would drive back into brooklyn just to go to this bar and chill, very good time and the bartenders were excellent, DJ too. It was our type of crowd!!!

well i have to say it was my first time going here this past weekend ,i do admit the place is small .when i walked in the music wasent really my style but i guess the dj knew what type of croud we were and changed up the music quick fast to suit our entertainment , i would definately go back ,though they should use some of that money to hook that place up a bit . i had a blast i danced the whole night . good looking out dj. till the next time...

I used to go to this Bar when it was Rain lounge which to me was way better than what it is now. Its sad that this place has done nothing to revitalize the bar. They did nothing to upgrade the interior and the outside is a disater. The drink selection is minimal at best. The Bartenders are friendly and the DJ can sometimes brighten up the night. Perhaps many others are just too attached to the old Rain Lounge concept of its people and staff. However it is a place to get away and relax and not worry about the usual issues when it comes to a bar, you rdrinks are speedy and the prices are great.
