From Shecky's
"Those afraid of clowns (or freaked out by the circus in general, you know who you are!), should avoid Funhouse at all costs; you'll have nightmares for weeks. Otherwise, this place is pretty fabulous, in the non-J.Lo sense of the word. A cavernous, raw, converted garage space beckons beyond the giant clown head by the entry, with non-stop, arty projections on the paint-chipped walls compete with cool pyramid installations under whirring industrial fans. If you're looking for a socialite/broker crowd, Funhouse ain't your scene; otherwise, inexpensive beers ($2 Buds, $3 Guinness), a free MP3 jukebox, and a cute, young clientele all warrant a thumbs up. And that, as the sign at Funhouse's exit says, is all, folks!"

cut out the house and it's just "fun". the bar underwent some renovations in the early fall of 2005 and is now what the owner calls the "cock light: basically a gay bar where everyone is welcome." as a straight chick, i didn't feel unwelcome, just a titch out of place. the space has been cut in half, so the cavernous feel is gone. it's cozy, and always warm inside. free ping pong and jukebox have also been eliminated. but drinks are still cheap and male go-go dancers grace the bar and a video projector plays movies which are more likely to appeal to gay men than other demographics. if that's your bag, this is your bar.
