Grand CentralFrom Village Voice
"Cheap drinks, decent food, a pool table and no real scene. Congratulations! You've stumbled upon a bunch of nothing! Don't get me wrong, it's not all bad (especially if you manage to run the pool table) but there are better places to go on this street."
From Shecky's
"As the hipster migration spreads east in Williamsburg, new bars are descending like flies on prime real estate. Grand Central offers a multitude of tap and bottled beers, wine by the glass, panini sandwiches, salads and dips, and even fresh-ground espresso and cappuccino. The jukebox scratches the surface of virtually every genre, from slightly outdated Top 40 and R&B to classic rock and soul. (Live bands bring their own draw to the small stage on most weekend nights.) A backyard rock garden and an old-school bowling game by the front door are definite pluses. But if it's one thing a true hipster can't stand, it's the smell of effort. Time will tell if this newcomer's overall vibe can emulate the detached cool of most of the staff-and the neighborhood."

SATURDAYS ARE THE BEST NIGHTS THERE. THAT BARTENDER ERIN IS GREAT! THEY'VE GOT A GOOD PATIO AND CHEAP DRINKS, PLUS YOU DON'T HAVE TO WADE THROUGH HIPSTERS AND SCREAM OVER BULLSHIT "SCENE-STER" MUSIC.

I recently visited the new Grand Central Bar; looks as if the place has been completely revamped by it's new owners. There's a jukebox and the Saturday night bartender's music selection is pretty respectable. The staff was fun, and quite entertaining. There is a completely new menu and looks as if they offer Sunday brunch as well. Drinks are very reasonably priced and the patio is comfortable. Here's a kicker: check out the artwork, guess they're having new shows every couple of weeks. I had fun.

checked out the newly re-openned bar. the drinks are very reasonable, there's bud draft if you're interested. there's red bull if you're interested. there's great crab cakes if you're interested. haven't been to brunch, but definitely worth a try.
