WE SAY: A sizable, nifty Mexican restaurant with a small bar up front whose visitors can be seen spilling out onto the sidewalk through the open storefront. This is one of the burgs older restaurants and has the best frozen margaritas in Williamsburg. The food is strangely inconsistent, ranging from fabulous to mediocre. (Bonita is much tastier) We recommend the quesadillas and the specials. Thats said, Vera Cruz is pretty darn good compared to most Mexican places in this city and the margaritas and yummy salsa make it all worthwhile.
From Paper
"The Mexican restaurant, a well-kept secret among the goateed local artist set, contains a hidden utopia: a rear garden of earthly delights where converts languish beneath a bottomless sky, the air heavy with the scent of flowers, while slurping heaven's elixir -- the frozen margarita -- through a plastic straw. Your only worries will be deciding between the nine types of tequilas (we recommend Herradura or Patron) and seven flavors, which include grapefruit, peach, and melon. When the brick patio becomes a swirling kaleidoscope, munch on some nachos or grilled corn and then order another round."
From NY MAG
You may come for the tasty margaritas and seemingly bottomless pitchers of sangria that are priced to sell, but you'll stay for the food at this cozy Mexican spot. Sizzling fajitas, tacos, and burritos are perfect accompaniments to the inevitable tequila buzz, but unlike other cheap Mexican joints, items are made fresh. You can taste the difference in spicy cilantro salsa, crispy homemade chips, and mouthwatering guacamole. Service is friendly, and the atmosphere--candlelit tables, warm yellow walls, loungy Latin grooves--is another reason to linger.

I went here with my brother George (the leader of our country go USA!).
People were really rude to us, why does everyone one in this part of town hate him? He's a great guy to grab a drink with when he's allowed to drink and knows a lot of good jokes.
I got a chicken thing that I couldn't pronounce and it was good till I bit something rubbery.
This place isn't good. A guy with a Polish accent served me a burrito. I don't get it.
