Class Actress and Brahms at Mercury Lounge 8.19.10
Since Lodge has the worst service in Brooklyn (and the best Blueberry Lemonade), we missed the first half of last night’s show at Mercury Lounge– though we heard that Sherlocks Daughter and Sun Airway were great. Luckily, we got there just in time to catch Class Actress and Brahms, who have quickly climbed to the top of our recent favorites list. First we were swooned by the electro crooning of Elizabeth Harper followed by a lightshow from Brahms. After being locked up in what Cale Parks called a “sweatbox in Greenpoint”, the Brahms boys emerged from a month long recording session to play the first NYC show since ending their most recent tour.
We’ll post a fairly mediocre video of Class Actress, shot by yours truly on a point and shoot, as soon as YouTube is done “processing” it. Real music journalism right here, folks!
