Essential Williamsburg, Brooklyn Culinary Experiences

Now that a mass exodus out of NY is officially underway—who doesn’t know at least one person who has relocated to San Francisco or another large city in the last few months—our friends at cakehead remind us why we still love Williamsburg with a list of Essential Williamsburg, Brooklyn Culinary Experiences. Check it out here.

i just moved here from san francisco (not by choice, forced out of love for girlfriend) and i have to say the food here is not as good and grossly overpriced.
bonita is a terrible excuse for mexican food. a $10 burrito? i lived the in the mission district of san francisco where $5.50 was steep.
great burgers in sf? big mouth burgers on 24th and valencia. $7.00 with steak fries. so big and juicy.
slices of pizza… made to order. that’s right, each slice is made when you order it from serrano’s on 21st street. fine, new york has some damn good pizza, i’m not complaining about this one.
maybe i’m griping for nothing, but i miss san francisco.
SF has NY beat when it comes to mexican food. But, there is salvation: the Red Hook Soccer fields, Saturday and Sunday only. This goodness ends for the year on October 21, so make the trip on the next two weekends to get your fix.
Allen, come on: “slices of pizza… made to order. that’s right, each slice is made when you order it from serrano’s on 21st street.”
Each slice is made when you order it? As in they roll out the dough for EACH slice. I think not. If you mean when you order a slice of pepperoni, they throw on the pepps right then and there (!!), well woopededoo!
The only good pizza in the Bay Area is at Zach’s, and that’s not even really pizza.
Ralph, seriously, they roll the dough when you order the pizza. I swear, that’s why it takes 20 minutes to get a slice.
Well that seems a bit extraneous, no?
i suppose, still damn good. but i do admit the pizza in new york is amazing.
