Dark Was The Night is a new compilation from 4AD records, which includes a slew of neat bands and songs. Everyone from Andrew Bird to Yeasayer to Iron and Wine contributed tracks to fundraise for the Red Hot Organization – an international charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV and AIDS.
Its official release date is February 16th, but if you RSVP at Insound you can hit the listening party Friday night and swill some free Budweiser while you’re at it.

2. Cheeseburger and Andrew W.K. @ Santos Party House

Fans of Adult Swim, Cheeseburger, and/or Andrew W.K. rejoice – the three forces are combining for a $0 show on Friday.
Santos says:
‚”Hosted by Jon Glaser, New York based writer and star of Adult Swim’s new show Delocated!, the event will feature a solo performance by Andrew W.K. and also a performance by New York’s very own Cheeseburger. _Christy Karacas of Cheeseburger is also co-creator of Adult Swim’s Superjail!.”
Get there early (music starts at 7:30 pm) because again, admission is on a first come, first serve basis.
