Frist tries to block filibuster in the name of Jesus

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn, addresses a crowd via teleconferencing at an evangelical Christian rally called ‘Justice Sunday,’ Sunday, April 24, 2005 in Louisville, Ky., in an effort to rally churchgoers to protest the filibuster tactic used by Democrats to stall President Bush’s picks for the federal court. “Religious” leader James Dobson knows the GOP is under his thumb. As he stated at the rally after encouraging the people in attendance to put pressure on pandering legislators:
“Republicans are real good at trembling.”

    Jesus is “Deck”

actually, Frist didn’t even hint at anything religious in his speech… I’m an independent, so don’t twist my arm, capice?

  3. wilson K says:

No, the fact he was speaking to a group of church leaders is irrelevant. He could have been talking to UAW or Greenpeace or a meeting of the ACLU, he just happened to be pandering to the religious right on that particular day. This has not even the hint of a religious twist to it.

  4. Thanks for the information.
