TAGS: Bedford, Garden/Outdoor Seating, Restaurants, Sandwiches, Southern, ★★★★ GreatThis casual new café hopes to draw customers just off of Williamsburg’s main Bedford Avenue drag with its small but smart menu. The offerings are a mix of classic comfort foods both high (mussels steamed with white wine and shallots, $8) and low (pulled pork sandwich, $10). Plus: interesting burgers (chorizo, anyone?) and rotating specials like jambalaya ($14). While the décor and the extras are a bit sparse right now, expect a beer and wine license soon and an enclosed backyard in the spring.

Living literally on the block, I’ve walked by here many times without stopping in. It’s sad that it took a good review from this site to prompt me to try it, but I’m really glad I did. I had a steak sandwich, the bf had the jumbalaya, and we started with the chicken tenders. Honestly, all was delicious. I’m only disappointed I hadn’t been here before. Maybe it was the lack of a liquor license? Maybe it’s the lack of a crowd? I dunno, but hopefully others (but not too too many) will discover the goodness and keep this place in business because it’s pretty much a rarity in this neck of williamsburg, and the owners are really sweet. I’m pretty sure they recognized me from walking my dog repeatedly by the place for weeks, soooo glad I finally made it in.
cool place really good bar food
Been coming here since shortly after it opened. Great mix of comfort food and a few asian noodle dishes. The chicken fried steak is simply boss; the biggest sleeper dish in a neighborhood of excellent food. There is nothing bad on the menu, everything is good or better and consistently so. It was pretty dead for a while but I’m noticing more people showing up. Recommended – the chef is talented and service friendly. That is Truth.
I try to make it to Juniper for lunch or dinner at least once a week. The food is great, the owners are incredibly sweet. Go check it out, the pulled pork sandwich is fantastic!
