The Owners say:

We are the only place of this kind in Brooklyn. We have Korean style do-it-yourself BBQ, using the highest quality meats (choice black angus), as well as great shabu-shabu. All of our sauces, condiments, dips, kimchees, etc are made in house, with an emphasis on creating the meals in the healthiest possible fashion.
Our tables are smokeless, so you won’t end up smelling like a piece of grilled meat when you’re done. We also have a cozy ‘lil bar/lounge in the back, which has it’s own entrance on north 1 st street.

NY Mag says:

You see a Korean restaurant in Williamsburg, and immediately you think scene over substance. That this is not the case at Dokebi is evident as soon as you start slurping soon dubu, an unapologetically briny, fiery stew of clams, shrimp, and tofu. Fortunately, this dish is no aberration. Except for a flavorless rendition of japchae, the classic glass-noodle stir-fry, the food is fresh and tasty, from the banchan, the collection of little dishes that accompany the Korean meal, to the bibimbap, a pile of rice, meat, and vegetables that cooks in front of you in a scalding hot stone bowl. And, of course, as long as the food is good, a little scene can’t hurt. So feel free to relish the airy room with its polished wood benches and bright-red chairs and tables that stand in for K-town restaurants’ drab décor. Another bonus: great beers, like Rogue, which go well with the grill-’em-yourself marinated short ribs. The 40-ounce of Colt 45, though? Leave it for the hipsters.

Booze: Beer, Wine, Sake

We say:

The best sushi in Williamsburg at a reasonable price. The interior is subtly decorated with soft colors and wood benches, providing a very enjoyable and Zen atmosphere. Korean dishes are equally satisfying. Try the ginger tofu or ginger chicken and you will not be disappointed. Flavors are refreshing in their subtlety, as they should be. If you want Thai—go to PlanEat Thai. If you want sushi or Korean- Miyako is the place to be. On the downside: the crab is that fake crap.

NY Mag says:

Luckily, this eager-to-please neighborhood Japanese/Korean hasn’t caught the annoying Williamsburg trendster bug, despite its prime N. 6th and Berry location and proximity to hipper-than-thou Asian joints like the decked out SEA. In line with its humble goal–to feed its patrons cheaply and well–the interior is no frills, with a small sushi bar seating three and decorative flourishes that peak with strands of white Christmas lights. You don’t have to search to find something affordable on the menu. Tofu and vegetables simmered in bonito stock weigh in at a mere $7.95, udon or soba noodles with beef and vegetables start at just $8.95. The bottom line: The food (especially the sushi) is always fresh, the wait staff will refill your green tea with a smile, and a Hershey’s kiss comes with your bill. Now that’s sweet!

NY Mag says:

The menu at Snacky reads like a greatest hits list of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese appetizers, with a few remixes thrown in. Some dishes, like the subtly nutty sesame noodles or the just-spicy-enough kim chee, draw strictly from tradition. Other dishes, like the peanut chili wontons and various other dumplings, blend and update old world nuances. (The same goes for the decor, with its mix of red paper lanterns and contemporary artwork.) The size, price, and quality of the small plates encourage sampling, although you can also opt for a meal-size hot pot or Shao Bing, a Chinese-style panini. Either way you’ll be able to find the right taste to accompany your melodious Snackytini sake cocktail. The sweet song of sake will loosen you up for the real music, which could be a local singer, could be a DJ, or, every other Thursday on karaoke night, could be you. Recommended Dishes: Sesame noodles, $3.50; shao bing sandwich with roast pork and spicy sauce, $4.95.”

Metromix says:

This sprawling Asian restaurant and lounge features a mix of Japanese, Korean and Chinese fare, as well as delicious sake-infused cocktails. DJs spin regularly, and every other Thursday is karaoke night. Highlights? Asian dumplings and the crabmeat rangoon, although everything here tastes pretty great after enough sake and cheap Tsingtao. Snack on, Snacky.
