Eater says:

A new restaurant in the old Greenpoint Coffee House space, opened on New Year’s Day. The new owners spiffed up the old dining room, it now serves cheap, standard diner fare, including an extensive line of breakfast burritos.

Metromix says

Taking over the former Greenpoint Coffee House space, this casual café offers a selection of diner-style classics—plus a   few left-fielders—in a warm, blonde-wood setting. There’s everything from “Jamaican-style” breakfast burritos (eggs, fish, tomatoes, peppers) ($6) to turkey meatloaf ($12), veg options, a weekend-only brunch menu, and, in a move that should help the place become a neighborhood fixture, a full bar. The owners have kept some of the original signage in place, giving the restaurant a slightly old-timey feel, and warmer weather will see the opening of a backyard.

  1. [...] The Garden Spot Cafe is Greenpoint’s newest diner/coffee shop serving inexpensive staples that are necessary after a night out. We’ve been told the giant list of breakfast burritos is worth a try. 195 Franklin Street, near Green Street. [...]

    I miss Greenpoint Coffee House.

I miss Greenpoint Coffee house too. Sadly the owner of this place gave the Greenpoint Coffee house barely a week’s notice when kicking them out. I dont wish any ill will on this place but i can tell you the owner is very moody and confrontational so beware.

  4. ally says:

They were given a ONE YEAR notice. Nice people but they did not know how to run a business.

  5. Mia says:

The pseudo-neon signs in the window are cheesy as hell. And not in a good way.

Maybe the people at the Greenpoint Coffeehouse did or didn’t know how to run a business, but they did know how to appropriately decorate a space.

    Thanks.

Had the best dinner at the Gardenspot Cafe last night. The roasted chicken is EXCELLENT. Can’t understand why the place wasn’t packed — this will be my favorite go-to spot when I’m hungry.
