Remember to Vote

And if you haven’t seen this Ferrer ad featuring a dancing Al Sharpton, it’s hilarious.

The image above should be called ‘Guilt by Association.’ Everyone knows Bloomie’s a Dem. God, you guys are so rhetorical, it’s disgusting.

  2. Sergio says:

“Everybody knows that Bloomberg is a Dem…”
Justify your vote for a REPUBLICAN all you want. If you vote for Bloomberg you are VOTING REPUBLICAN. If Bloomberg wins NYC will have had REPUBLICAN mayors for 4 straight terms.
BLOOMBERG IS A REPUBLICAN–no matter how you want to justify your VOTING FOR A REPUBLICAN. You are casting your vote for THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.
Ok: some of you may vote for him on the “Liberal” line or “Independence” line to elo you feel less guilty about VOTING FOR A REPUBLICAN. But you do have to ask yourself why the Liberal Party is supporting a REPUBLICAN and why, out of all parties, is the Independence Party (with it’s history of it’s Marxist/Leninist leader) is supporting a REPUBLICAN.
“Everyone knows Bloomberg is a Dem…”
Ok….whatever. Say hello to your fellow Republicans after the election.

  3. Sergio says:

“Tony Gronowicz has a proven commitment to the most important product of politics-which is pervasive justice for the people. If you want a mayor who will stand up to the corporate lobbyists, corporate freeloaders, corporate tax evaders, and corporate polluters, Tony Gronowicz is your candidate. A practitioner of direct grassroots democracy, and a teacher of history, Tony Gronowicz would bring experience and intellect to the office of Mayor.”
    Ralph Nader
He’s got my vote today. Probably doesn’t have a shot in hell in winning but at least I voted my conscience. I didn’t VOTE FOR THE REPUBLICAN like most other New York City “liberals” and “Progressives” probably will….

  4. Sergio says:

The numbers are in: Looks like the Republican won. What happened to NYC being a Democratic city? Wow…
NYC: Talks like Liberals—Act like Republicans
4 straight terms of Republican mayors
The people in this city must love Republicans after all, huh? I mean, all that prattle at the convention last year…and they wind up electing a Republican to run the city…again…for the 4th time in a row!

  5. Anonymous says:

    The ad is funny though…

  6. Sergio says:

    The ad IS funny…

  7. Anonymous says:

The animated “happy endings” rawhide video is Funny.

  8. hstencil says:

Sergio, maybe one day you’ll understand politics….but only once you go beyond the labels. Right now, you’re just a simple-minded reactionary.

  9. Roy Van Dyke says:

Perhaps Bloomberg’s (and the previous 3 elections) win has less to do with the R by his name and more to do with the candidates Democrats are fielding.

  10. Sergio says:

A simple minded reactionary? Maybe. But I didn’t vote for a Republican…especially all the anti-Republican blather coming from the “hipster” crowd so often. It’s funny…looking at the numbers, it seems hip Williamsburg voted Republican this election…
Call me whatever you like. I don’t care.
As far as who the Democrats are fielding…was John Kerry any better in the last presidential election? Seems to me that Kerry is philosphically similar to Ferrer…yet somehow, no one could muster up the courage to support Ferrer. Bloomberg, in many ways (though not in others) is philosphically similar to Bush (they have the same positions on many issues) yet the oh so liberal New Yorkers seem to have voted for him in a big way (yet they hate Bush).
Maybe I DON’T understand politics. Something this contradictory is hard to explain and quite frankly, very hypocritical if you ask me.
I say again: justify it however you like. You voted Republican. Period. And when the working poor (and the poor) in this city get forced out of their rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods, where housing is becoming increasingly scarce for those who don’t have a lot of money, don’t complain. Those who voted for Bloomberg evidently support it.
