WE SAY: Voted best pizza by the NY Press, this brick oven joint boasts that its brick oven is 112 years old. Maybe this is true, but to be honest all we really care about is the pizza and it is pretty darn good. Atmosphere is classic Brooklyn, wood paneling and all, and perfect for a cozy dinner. Italian entrees with often homemade pasta are a nice added bonus.
From Village Voice "Never could quite understand why everyone hangs out at that dump on Bedford Avenue while Brick Oven Gallery exists just a couple of blocks away. The pizza puttanesca ("whore's pizza") more than lives up to its name."
From New York Magazine: "Where there's a century-old brick oven, there tends to be superb pizza, and this off-the-beaten path Williamsburg restaurant is no exception. Quiet, friendly, a world apart from overheated Bedford Avenue, it's decorated with local art and full of local flavor, from the eggplant-based "Brooklyn caviar" to the customers who sit outside and smoke cigars after polishing off a hunk of Italian cheesecake."

This place is simple and good. The pizza is classic thin-crust and delicious! They don't take any credit cards actually, it's cash only now (someone needs to update the info on this page). Tried their shrimp appetizer which was scrumptious as well.

This pizza is perfect, with its thin crisp crust and perfect toppings. The Tartufo Bianco with the mushrooms and truffle oil is amazing!! Then again..so is the simple Margherite. Altogether I'd say its a win-win situation at Brick Oven!

Great place. When I lived in Williamsburg, I eat there at least once a week. The pizzas are incredible. My wife has tried some of the pasta and she thought it good also.
I highly recommend trying the "Brick Oven Shrimp" for appetizer.

They've added a little garden area to the back now. Everything's fresh and simple. Great place for a pizza date.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
