WE SAY: Voted best pizza by the NY Press, this brick oven joint boasts that its brick oven is 112 years old. Maybe this is true, but to be honest all we really care about is the pizza and it is pretty darn good. Atmosphere is classic Brooklyn, wood paneling and all, and perfect for a cozy dinner. Italian entrees with often homemade pasta are a nice added bonus.
From Village Voice "Never could quite understand why everyone hangs out at that dump on Bedford Avenue while Brick Oven Gallery exists just a couple of blocks away. The pizza puttanesca ("whore's pizza") more than lives up to its name."
From New York Magazine: "Where there's a century-old brick oven, there tends to be superb pizza, and this off-the-beaten path Williamsburg restaurant is no exception. Quiet, friendly, a world apart from overheated Bedford Avenue, it's decorated with local art and full of local flavor, from the eggplant-based "Brooklyn caviar" to the customers who sit outside and smoke cigars after polishing off a hunk of Italian cheesecake."

Marc;
We actually do not have the new phone number because a new pole has to be put up. We are hoping that it will be up within the next week or so. I will continue to update here until we have a new listing of our own :) As for Kenny...he is very happy to be back...we look forward to seeing you soon!!

To all of our loyal customers;
I just wanted to once again thank all of our loyal customers for all the support through the years. And as of Tuesday, September 23rd Kenny's Trattoria will be open. For those of you who don't know him, Kenny is the former owner of Brick Oven Gallery. The menu at Kenny's Trattoria offers a selection of pasta dishes, including a homemade ravioli of the day, several chicken, pork and beef dishes along with a couple of seafood dishes. The location is 7 Withers St. which is actually just two blocks down from Brick Oven Gallery. We hope to see you all soon!!

I always loved the BOG.
I will keep checking back for a new address to visit.

BOG was one of the few remaining gems in this neighborhood. Let me guess, a condo is taking over the location? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a new location nearby soon. I need a Lizzy B's pie so bad. We wish you the best!

Arthur:
Unfortunately, we were the last to know the closing date. Had we known, we definitely would have made an announcement and had an official closing. I will definitely will keep you and our other loyal customers posted about a new location. Our main concern is letting our patrons know that we are no longer at 33 Havemeyer St. to avoid any confusion, and of course to thank you all. Thank You!!!

Nicole, thanks for the note. I am a regular customer, but was out of the country when you closed. B.O.G. really should have made an announcement. Imagine my shock upon returning and making a lunchtime beeline to a boarded-up restaurant!
Anyway, I trust you will post the new location on this site?

Hi All. Brick Oven Gallery had its last day and served its last pizza on 7.20.08. My Uncle owns the place so I would know. We ended on a good note with all of our regular customers there to help us mark the day. It was sort of bittersweet. We hopefully will be relocating within a month. We just wanted everyone to know we officially closed and are absolutely no longer at 33 Havemeyer St. Thank you to all of our loyal customers and we look forward to seeing you soon!

My biggest heartache on a recent trip to Italy was the fact that I was craving B.O.G. pizza the entire time. It is that good.
Such a tasty little gem--and friendly, too.

This place is simple and good. The pizza is classic thin-crust and delicious! They don't take any credit cards actually, it's cash only now (someone needs to update the info on this page). Tried their shrimp appetizer which was scrumptious as well.

This pizza is perfect, with its thin crisp crust and perfect toppings. The Tartufo Bianco with the mushrooms and truffle oil is amazing!! Then again..so is the simple Margherite. Altogether I'd say its a win-win situation at Brick Oven!

Great place. When I lived in Williamsburg, I eat there at least once a week. The pizzas are incredible. My wife has tried some of the pasta and she thought it good also.
I highly recommend trying the "Brick Oven Shrimp" for appetizer.

They've added a little garden area to the back now. Everything's fresh and simple. Great place for a pizza date.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
