*CLOSED* Bleu Drawes CafeFrom New York Magazine
"In deference to his Greenpoint neighbors, Steve Brooks makes a toothsome kielbasa omelette for brunch. But the rest of the time, the chef-owner of this nineteen-seat café adapts family recipes for a lightened-up, modernized version of Jamaican home cooking. Codfish cakes are impeccably fresh and crisp; moist jerk chicken is deftly seasoned, if not incendiary. Every main course (or "real food," as the menu puts it) comes with fluffy rice and peas, plantains, and greens. Tenuous as this might make the prospect of dessert, try to do justice to the place’s namesake, a dense steamed sweet-potato pudding served on a banana leaf and drizzled with coconut milk."

pretty tasty, but the menu is too small and the portions are small too

If I go more than a week without their incendiary jerk chicken, I start to feel it. Their sides are splendid, too: codfish cakes, collards, warm cabbage salad, coconut rice, etc., all exceptional. Staff is friendly and the owner the very epitome of a restauranteur.
Greenpoint's well-hidden gem.

What the F!!!
The menu reads like another American restaurant. I didn't even order. I mean you come here for jerk chicken and Jamacian Patties and the offerings are your run of the mill Burger, Steak and Chicken!
I don't know what else to say other than bring the old menu back! I miss my Jamacian food get away here in Greenpoint.

The menu has changed, but the food is sooooo good. The steak is amazing, brunch has awesome french toast. I love this place.
