WE SAY: One of our favorite local bars. Plus they serve a great brunch and dinner. We had our misgivings since, well Enids is more of a bar than a restaurant, but surprisingly the food is great! One of the best -- and crowded -- brunches in the neighborhood.
From City Search
"When you think of Williamsburg--painters in splattered jeans, indie-rock kids, lots of Herzog fans--you're basically thinking of Enid's. Though it's technically in an area that bleeds over into Greenpoint, this neighborhood bar plays home to all the characters who make Williamsburg so downright hip. Leavened with drinkers who are cool on the inside, it's a comfortable stop for all. Enid's is exceptionally large for a New York bar. On weeknights, there's plenty of room to wiggle around; on weekends the crowd will keep your wiggling to a minimum. The flea-market couches and scattered tables and chairs make up the understated decor, though a big wall-hanging camel made out of gold sequins adds flair. Also check out the consistently bumping pinball machine and even a bowling game. Drink-wise, Enid's keeps it simple, with an adequate stock of liquors at fair neighborhood-bar prices. "

The service for Brunch is pretty bad and the food is OK, but way over-priced. I'd skip this place.

Bad bad service. I went to Enids with a guest on a Sunday when there was a wait, and they completely forgot about us. We watched a couple get seated that arrived after us, and let the staff know we were at the bar. They apologized, but then proceeded to sit more and more people after us. Then when we reminded them again - they admitted that they forgot to seat us again. When we were finally seated, we ordered, but then minutes after our order we decided we wanted to order another menu item. The red headed waitress refused, saying the kitchen would not allow anyone to order additional food since they wanted to turn tables. Though, I assume this was the waitress and not the cooks rule. We begged and finally were allowed to order one more item. Then it took forever to get the check. But they wanted to turn tables? I unfortunately decided to try Enids one more time.
But again we got the bad waitress with the red hair. And after ordering food we had a friend that called to join us. But the waitress would not allow us to order more food!? The server said because we would be there too long. But there was no waiting list and there were available tables. Our friend had to eat our leftovers.
So I have not been back since. It has been a year now. The food is good but not worth the crapy service. There are so many better places to eat.

Run of the mill college bar with bartenders that have that, "I'm so bored" look...food is more or less. Nothing interesting but it'll fill your stomach.

I don't know why people say this place has good brunch, it doesn't. Also the staff needs some serious lessons in manners.

they do too take cards...there is a minimum though.

I don't get the complaints above-- enids was a bar for years before they served food. I don't understand why people would say that a restaurant went down the tubes or it was even an eatery.
also, until about 3 years ago, the only place to get brunch in williamsburg was in bars -- as there really wasn't any restaurant. so two points: 1) no one is drinking heavily at 1pm on sunday while there are kids running around, they're eating. 2) what exactly is the different between a restaurant that serves alcohol at brunch and a bar that serves food at brunch? should kids never be allowed in restaurants that serve alcohol? damn, thats so white trash. i never thought of it.

Enid's is a great bar. But when on Saturday afternoon and the food services is over and I'm trying to start a good bender or may-be just relax with some friends, I don't want to have children toddling around my feet. Last few times I've been this was the case. There is nothing cool about bringing your kids to a bar people. Yeah you’re young and yeah you don't want to have to give up your lifestyle, but then get a baby sitter. Or gasp drink at home. Bringing your kids to bars is white trash, let alone completely inconsiderate. Who wants to get drunk around little Jared who is running around in circles tripping over himself while his parents ignore his behavior or better yet discuss it with him. (Another modern wonder - negotiating with a three year old.) I was so turned off after the last time I haven’t been back.

food is mediocre and overpriced, service is awful and waitresses are rude. ive lived in the neighborhood for awhile and have really tried to like this place, but truth be told, it is one of the worst brunch places in the neighborhood

Incredible brunch, if you can stand the long wait.

the waitstaff needs to shower before they come to work on sunday!

Pretentious attitude has got the best of enids. Went in for dinner, and was literally igorned by two waiters even after eye contact was established twice. After 15 minutes of being ignored, got up and walked right out of the half empty restaurant. Enid's is not the place for good service, and the food is bland. Enid's is definitely overrated!

Enids changed. The best local restaurant at which my friends and I spent great times and ate great meals has gone down the tubes. The menu changed. The Service, once by far the best is now garbage. Please Enids......STOP SUCKING! I miss you.
Enids R.I.P

Nevermind the wait and the people who have spent way too much time on their outfit for a sunday afternoon. Do it for the food. The food is the bomb. I have never once been disappointed. Yay, huevos rancheros & arnold palmer. Dinner is pretty awesome, too. Way to go, Enid's.

feels like glorified college cafeteria food. it's cheap, and decent. I think they make the best bloody mary's in town. and still give Celery with it! (why does everyone nix the celery element, it's not THAT $)
