CITY SEARCH SAYS: Nestled into a relatively quiet section of Williamsburg, this brightly painted spot draws a neighborhood mixture of budget-conscious youngsters and health-conscious elders. Combo plates ranging from $7 to $11 are a good way to try several different items off the ever-changing menu of Rastafarian-approved dishes like jerk tofu, spicy chickpeas, and curried seitan "goat." Dairy-free desserts such as banana cake and ginger cookies round out the meal with a sampling of the Caribbean's sweeter side. Wash down your meal with a traditional Jamaican beverage like ginger beer or sorrel juice. Alcohol is not served, but you are welcome to bring your own; several nearby bodegas are well-stocked with specialty beers. This restaurant is counter-service only, and you will earn high marks with staff for busing your own table.

very inconsistent. depending on the server, the cook and the time you could end up with the most awesome meal or the worst crap youve ever spend money on. its only good when is fresh out of the kitchen and its terrible when you get there and is all run down. depending on whos working you could get a bunch of food or not enough. and i guess the chefs change so it can be very tasty one day and bland the next. inconsistency is a terrible trait. i think if they tried just a little harder this place would rule hard. until then its just a waste.

Hey- just to let the last reviewer know, it's CREAMED corn, NOT CANNED corn. We don't use canned vegetables. Thanks.

Everytime I want to eat something close to my apt, I think about this place and how I wish it had better food! I'm a vegan so this would be so swell. Last time I went there, they had a pretty sad selection and one item was canned corn, which blew me away considering the prices they charge.

mighty diamond is awesome. its definitely better if you eat there vs. delivery, but that's true for basically anything. if you like vegetarian food it fills up and hits the spot, if you are a 'foodie' who finds it too bland, use the convenient hot sauce and stop being a baby. they carry cafe du monde which is easily the best coffee ever. as far as the decor, the mural is cool. restaurants should look different. mighty diamond is the one with the colorful mural. as for music, its good if they play their music loud, and the music should be for the staff. they are there all day working hard to make and serve good food. you are there for max. one hour to eat it. dont be a baby. the food is good the atmosphere is rad. its mighty diamond. not something else. exactly the point.

I used to work in East New York and there was this BANGIN Jamaican place down the street, run by Jamaicans, that served pretty much the same cuisine that Mighty Diamond does...the only difference is that that place was the real deal, was DELICIOUS, flavorful, well presented, and cheap. Mighty Diamond's food is bland and unappetizing, and for too much money. Put some Caribbean people in the kitchen and maybe I'll go back.

I wish I could endorse Mightly Diamond wholeheartedly, because they are the only f__g restaurant nearby that serves vegetables (and they have great coffee - order half a cup and fill with milk or be prepared to be sick from caffeinne.)
The food is inconsistent - sometimes hotter than the sun and sometimes just hot. Most of the time, the greens have sand in them and are inedible- WASH your greens before you cook them!
The tofu sometimes has a tough, rubbery "skin" on it and sometimes, it's pleasantly perfect.
Delivery is not worth it - they definitely don't have that down and they give you much less food.
I agree about the goat - almost all potatoes.
As for being sick - I don't know where that comes from - I've eaten there tons of times and it's never happened (maybe your systems can't handle hot?)
Basically - if BLISS were closer, I'd eat there, but as I don't cook and as the food is passable and vegetable-centered, I eat there alot.
I also wish they'd turn down the freakin music too - they definitely play it for the staff and not for the diners (who can digest with that blaring sh-t coming at you? I mean, I like loud music at a concert, but not while eating my rubbery tofu.
I do appreciate these folks intentions and with a little luck , they just may improve their biz.

I can only imagine that some of you who have had negative experiences have just ordered the wrong thing or it comes down to taste, because this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. the "esco-fish" tempeh is delicious. I find myself with insatiable cravings for it pretty frquently. the rice pudding is good, as well.

this place is great vegan food. eaten there at least ten times, never gotten sick. the "meat" patties are great.

just ate there last night. the food was ok while i was eating it but i feel sick today. and i second the comment about the seitan curry. it was all potatoes.

was so excited to see the place open, and then it turns out they follow the stereotype of bland, flavorless vegan cooking where flavor gets replaced by heat. the food was ugly to look at and ugly to eat and i could have done better by cooking at home.

I ordered delivery and it was pretty bad. I wanted to like it. The curry goat was all potatoes and only one piece of the goat. Maybe it's better if you eat in.

I got sick after eating there. Nuff said.

this neighborhood needed a restaurant that serves vegetables SO BAD! i think the food is better than most bland vegetarian food. i'm a meat eater and i don't even miss the meat. the veggie goat is awesome and the patties rule. they also had the best coffee.

The food is sooooo gooooooood.
It's all vegetarian. That's why there would not be roti.
I guess it requires a certain taste...

I like this place. They make everything from scratch, and it's all organic beans and grains. The murals are kind of intense, but the place is chill. Coconut Rice Pudding- YUM.
