BROOKLYN PAPER SAYS: On a recent Monday night, Williamsburg's newest sports bar was packed. Everyone in Mulholland's had one thing in common: a thirst for free beer. Free beer may, in fact, be the only explanation for beefy fraternity types in football jerseys and the neighborhood's trademarked bespectacled hipster to be mingling; when I returned the following Wednesday, the bar had lost the grandeur of its opening and was nearly empty. Far from the energetic nightspots that Billyburg is known for, Mulholland's felt more like a bar in a strip mall. But Sean Mulholland, who owns the watering hole along with his brother Bill, insisted that the neighborhood's chic, young residents are really "closet sports fans." The Mulholland brothers spent years working in bars, clubs and restaurants -- most recently Eugene, a glossy lounge in Manhattan -- and had been looking to buy their own spot for the past two years. Although they initially looked at Manhattan's Lower East Side, Williamsburg's cheaper rents and less commercial vibe won them over. "We just fell in love with the neighborhood," said Sean. "It's like a small town -- everyone's really sweet. It's almost like there's a Midwest feel, which we think is awesome!" Local residents might quibble with his assertion that they're akin to Midwesterners, but the Grand Street corridor is quickly becoming more high-end, and therefore more open to a wider variety of nightlife options. I wandered into this place last week on my day off to watch some baseball and I'm so glad I did. I live in Williamsburg (moved here a year ago) and haven't found a neighborhood bar I like yet. I ordered the BLT. Really good, straight forward. The bartender was super nice chatting with me on and off while he worked. I was there for almost 5 hours, completely lost track of time. I have to say that that is the mark of a cool ass place.. great food, awesome service, game on, chill bartender. Just an all around great experience in a relaxed atmosphere. Found my new spot..

Wandered into this place last week on my day off to watch some baseball and I was so glad I did. I live in Williamsburg (moved here a year ago) and haven't found a neighborhood bar I liked until now. It was early in the evening so it wasn't too busy. I ordered the BLT. It was really good. The bartender was super nice... chatting with me on and off while he worked. I must have stayed there for 4 hours, completely lost track of time. I have to say that that is the mark of a cool ass place, bartender is down-to-earth and easy going, food is great, and awesome service. Mulhollands is unpretentious and just an all around great experience..

So, I brought some business clients here the other night and the female bartender clearly had no idea what she was doing. we ordered three ketel and sodas, and I watched in horror as she splashed barely a half a shot over a large glass filled with ice and then filled the rest up with soda water. WTF. $8 for the weakest drink in Williamsburg? Then she gave back the wrong change, shorting us a ten. Hire some real bartenders, who don't seem so awkward it stops conversation. As an experienced bartender, I was even too embarrassed to say anything. Cringeworthy.

the funniest thing is the owners have gone on a ton of these sites and written their own positive reviews. you can tell because they constantly are pushing their sliders and wings as the best in brooklyn and usually the rest of the review reads like some product attribute list. in reality, it's pretty nice inside but it is FILTHY behind the bar and the guys who run it are a pair of doushy ex-frat boy guidos who clearly hate their own customers and are too cheap to get half the major sports satellite packages. by the way, what kind of sports bar blasts queen rather than playing the game?

first place i've ever been where they make you pay for your food before they give it to you because the bartender "might forget to" later on. but what do you expect from a place that last year had a guy who didn't know how to work the satellite tv working alone during the ncaa tournament. seconds on the comment about the bar being run by a dickhead. worst. sports bar. ever.

Amazing wings and Sliders, high def tv's from anywhere u sit and the place was packed. We watched the Skins here last Sunday and plan on being back every Sunday for the season. Friendly staff and food came fast... GO SKINS!!!!!

If you want some dickhead Long Island/Jersey tool to make you pay way too much for beer in Williamsburg while getting a plasma tan, go here. Its easy to find this glowing shat hole, and that is exactly how you will feel when you walk out, like a piece of shat. You would think you would get service in this empty bar, not true. Don't try it.

For not having much going on for itself in the first place, Mulholland's doesn't even get "sports bar" thing right. I called to ask which national game would be showed on FOX that day.My question was met with silence, then "What? What is Fox?"
Don't waste your time. But if you need to waste your time, go somewhere else to do it.
