CITY SEARCH SAY: Featuring a recently reinvented Mexican inspired menu (and a boatload of fine tequila), ELOTE is a neighborhood-dedicated joint that you don't need to be from Williamsburg to feel comfortable in. Sauce-driven dishes, with both familiar and new accompaniments, are a perfect base for tequila, beer, or cocktails (among which the muddled-to-order margaritas are a favorite). Happy Hour features a Saloon Menu alongside $2 Tecate or $5 House Ritas. Tequila flights and tastings are always available for the strong at heart. ELOTE serves dinner 7 days (with a late night menu til 2am on Friday and Saturday) as well as brunch from 11-4 on the weekends ($11 includes coffee and cocktail). When it warms up, they have a fantastic outdoor garden.

Just ate here last Saturday. It was not very busy but the service was terrible. Drinks are a good value but the food was so bland. Had the pork and the fish tacos and the had to be drowned in hot sauce for flavor. There are so many better places for tacos- like the taco truck in union pool or on bedford ave.- both of which are cheaper. Good margaritas but like I said service is slow so don't expect to be throwing them back.

although, i do agree that Elote can be inconsistent in food quality, they still have a few dishes that seem to always turn out good. I have never been there for brunch, but fish tacos, pulled pork sandwich, and burritos have always been good. And yeah, drink prices are somewhat high, but their drinks are ALWAYS super strong! And honestly, the prices are way higher at places like Taco Chulo. And Elote gives free chips and salsa, which somehow on the East Coast became a rarity! I have always had good service, and cant complain about the cute wait staff.

This place used to be good. Great fresh bbq in the back in the summer, decent fish tacos, etc. They have gone so far downhill it's not even funny. I have been there dozens of times over the years - last time I went, the steak in the steak and eggs was inedible and covered with this disgusting red sauce. No flavor in any of it. The eggs, which were supposed to be scrambled, were an overcooked to the point that they were solid and brown. Oh, and best of all - they used to do their margaritas with fresh lime. This last time I overheard the bartender saying he could make them fresh for someone if they requested it. Moved to a mix, on top of it all? This place is disgusting, an insult to anyone paying money there, and deserves to go out of business NOW.

tasteless! bland!
how is it even possible to create such flavorless food? and mexican, nonetheless? you'd have to really be trying to create this food with no taste. i mean, i realize mexican is no easy feat, but really?
i had the chilaquiles, which were amazing at both bonita and taco chulo, but at elote they're just nachos with eggs. not good! my friend had the huevos rancheros and was equally un-impressed. how can you go wrong with tortillas, eggs, cheese, and gooey goodness? well, ask elote, cos they've failed fantastically.

this worst experience i have had in a restaurant in a long time. our waitress and the entire kitchen staff was drinking beers at a table right next to us. the food is terrible and overpriced! don't waste your time or money.

So let me get this straight: if I live on Broadway and Kent, i get free delivery, but if I live on Union on the wrong side of Metropolitan -- about 1/5 the distance of B'way/Kent -- I get charged $3? Screw this place and its asinine delivery map. Anyone endorsing a policy that stupid surely has to run a sub-standard joint.
