NYMAG SAYS: "The menu at Snacky reads like a greatest hits list of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese appetizers, with a few remixes thrown in. Some dishes, like the subtly nutty sesame noodles or the just-spicy-enough kim chee, draw strictly from tradition. Other dishes, like the peanut chili wontons and various other dumplings, blend and update old world nuances. (The same goes for the decor, with its mix of red paper lanterns and contemporary artwork.) The size, price, and quality of the small plates encourage sampling, although you can also opt for a meal-size hot pot or Shao Bing, a Chinese-style panini. Either way you’ll be able to find the right taste to accompany your melodious Snackytini sake cocktail. The sweet song of sake will loosen you up for the real music, which could be a local singer, could be a DJ, or, every other Thursday on karaoke night, could be you. Recommended Dishes: Sesame noodles, $3.50; shao bing sandwich with roast pork and spicy sauce, $4.95."
From NY Daily News
"Like its decor - a mishmash of Japanese and Chinese kitsch (Japanese porcelain geisha dolls vie with a portrait of Bruce Lee behind the bar) - this year-old red sake lounge serves up both Chinese and Japanese bites. Be sure to try the sticky rice steamed in lotus leaf ($2.25) and the mini eel bowl ($4.50)."

I can't believe these bad reviews! My bf and I love this place. Try the Snacky's fried rice, pan seared vegetable rolls, and wasabi pork dumplings. So good! And the place is as cool as heck.

This might be an alright place for a drink, but the food is literally the worst I've ever eaten in a restaurant. I can only compare it to the kind of food you would make in college: mix everything in the kitchen in a pan, take one bite, throw it out, eat some Ramen instead. SO BAD.

Snacky is the best. Hands down, no question.
The food is not only great but it is consistent. There are plenty of vegetarian options. The vibe is so relaxed and friendly.
All my friends love Snacky.
I have lived across from the street from Snacky for 8 years and it's not only my favourite restaurant in Williamsburg but Sandy the owner is one of the best people around.
Go there with your friends and have fun.
Snacky rocks and always will.

Had some good food here, actually, but like many have mentioned, the service is SLOW SLOW mother fucking SLOOOOOOOOOW. One person seems to be waiting, cooking, making drinks and endlessly chatting at the bar. HIRE MORE PEOPLE.

I have to agree with most people. I really like the idea of snacky. I've been there about 8 times and really want to like it, but besides waiting forever, the servers are not even nice about it. The food is pretty bland, kind of seems like frozen food heated up. However, it's open late which is probably it's only redeeming quality.

I really want to love Snacky, I really do! I love that the space is small, cozy and comfortable. But the service just ridiculously slow...and the food...unfortunately, just okay. The udon noodles were beyond bloated and puffy (a symptom of being overcooked) and the mini eel rice bowl...uh, whatever. Please hire more people...in the kitchen, and in the front area. Having consistent hours would help too...I can't even count the number times I've walked by and wondered...why are they closed again? While I appreciate the fact the menu has broadened considerably since opening (I guess having the new Korean place next door "encouraged" them to do more with their food)...I think Snacky is better off doing small plates and comfort foods. This Pan Asian thing (trying to do Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai) just isn't working. Please stick to what made you guys great to begin with. A small, simple menu...and friendly not-in-your-face service, please!

The Godzilla dvd that seems to play on a loop doesn't suffice for bad service and disappointing food. A couple friends and I came around 8:30 on a Tuesday night and it was surprisingly busy. But maybe it only seemed this way because there was only one person working the dining room and bar and she couldn't quite be as attentive as she should have been. I wasn't ready to order when my friends were but decided maybe three minutes after them and placed my order with her. My food came out 20 minutes after they had gotten theirs and were already finished..plates cleared. I wasn't even hungry at that point which is lucky because I took a few bites of my tofu and steamed vegetable dish and realized the tofu was tough and well done and everything lacked flavor. The only good part was my passion fruit soda water which thankfully filled me up.

The decor is endlessly fascinating / okonomiyaki a bit small but tasty / shoyu ramen taste good but meat tough / sesame noodle a little bland - will go back just to enjoy looking at the deer tv. Recommended.

i wanna love this place because it's so cute and cozy and they do have yummy drinks you can sip from a buddah's belly. but everytime i go and eat a 'snack' i get sick. it bums me out. yes, and it is SLOWWWW, the people are nice though. i'll just stick to the sake.

I always get the Zatoichi drink specail (a beer and a shot of sake, $4) and a hot noodle dish. Love the food, prices are resonable. Suffers from bare-bones staffing however, a blight on many Williamsburg restaurants. Just hire someone else! Please!
