The quality of the food at Socrates is way, way better than that of the Manhattan Diner down the block. The folks who work there are friendly and involved in the neighborhood, which is a nice change of pace, and the service is great. The coffee could use a little work, otherwise the breakfast menu (served all day) is a real winner.
