CITY SEARCH SAYS: This miniscule salad joint is appropriately painted green, and the walls are etched with a vaguely lettuce-like pattern. The shockingly fashionable and chipper staff takes order cards from customers, who've checked off a list of desired toppings like chickpeas, hard-boiled eggs, pine nuts and beets, as well as dressing of choice, some of which, like the soy sesame, are made onsite. Hoagies, baked potatoes and homemade sides like coleslaw help salad eat like a meal. There are no seats, so take your chow home, or find a nearby stoop to sit on.
