Established December 1999,
Free Williamsburg has grown from the single voice
of editor and creator, Robert Lanham, to become
the voice of many. It is our intent to provide
you with content
that is not compromised by our advertisers or
by homogenous perspectives.
We are not tax-deductible, liberal, black, agnostic,
glass, Chinese, man, white, gay, the Pope, reactionary,
truthful, woman, Christians, atheists, forward-thinking,
ex-convicts, dull, homophobic, funky, millionaires,
neighborhood locals, Russian, spiritual, stone,
Branch Davidians, lying, Japanese, art students,
drug addicts, Polish, fresh, losers, shiny, Baptists, a blog
or a website. We do not want direction or a mission.
We want to be open.
As the name "Free"
implies, we are interested in providing content
that is free from the biases that so often accompany
sites and media made partial by their advertisers.
We do not promote any event or organization we
would not recommend to a friend. This is what
makes us unusual. Only our taste is to be questioned.
This is what distinguishes us from our competition.
