took a rest stop with long island
in a golden mercury at union square
i had heard my name
uttered in silence
through the squirrel-fed parking lines
so i jumped inside for relaxation
expansion caught by surprise
my eyes
quickly opened to a bright and surreal day
this is new york and it's almost like fall
the way it smells in brooklyn
like cut grass and sunday afternoon
beaming white walls surround
a sudden look of freshness
amazing the difference
the expulsion of negative
the soft remaining silence
trickling over my skin
like the gentle dance of falling laughter
not knowing... just following
