Three girls with the names of Rosie Glassman, Britney Bora and Marina Ross have formed a band called New Myths. On March 11th, they released a self titled EP with breezy vocals gathered on a psychedelic rock foundation. This trio force is haunted by the buttery woos and whispers from each member. Their harmonies compliment their pretty hair as they sway back and forth to the background dance tempo. New Myths’ EP contains three tracks, all in the three minutes range and “It Burns Through Your Armor” is a personal favorite. Today, the girls have decided to make this EP “name your price”(huzzah!). Three alluring songs from three alluring girls, what’s not to like? Visit New Myths bandcamp here.
The Google Spanish to English translation for “abanico” is a fan. In the music culture, Il Abanico is a glistening pop outfit from Bogotá, Colombia. The band consists of Nicolas Losada on a guitar, Julianna Ronderos on a microphone and supporting members on various experimental instruments. Il Abanico is music that shines beautiful rays across the room. One hear of Ronderos’ voice and you can grasp a distinctive allurement to their sweet melodic sounds. This band is currently residing in Brooklyn and playing many regular shows around Williamsburg. If you haven’t checked out their music, get a free download of their Crossing Colors EP on their bandcamp. Il Abanico will also be attending SXSW, so feel free to visit their facebook to stalk them at that love fest.
Every other month, I go on an obsessive Young Magic rampage. It’s been going on for a year and you’d probably notice this if you’re socially connected with me. It’s quite unhealthy but I’m fine with it and I hope they’re fine with it. Young Magic is a trio experimental band from Brooklyn. My interest back on them ignited when they released their second music video. This video is for “Night In The Ocean”, which will be on Young Magic’s forthcoming album Melt via Carpark Records. Produced by Newfoundland Tack, the visuals in “Night In The Ocean” involves a switch of a lovely couple doodling on each other’s skin and mesmerizing scenes of the ocean. The vintage color edits compliment their heavily synth-ed tunes. Throughout the video, abstract shapes keep appearing and I’m not sure what that means. Do you? Watch the video below and get hooked.
