FC St.Pauli match viewing, today!

Today our favorite soccer team, FC St.Pauli, takes on Dynamo Dresden at the Millerntor in Hamburg, Germany. The match will be shown on the big screen at the East River Bar in Williamsburg at 7pm. Come on out and join the East River Pirates‘ chants.  Or just have a few affordable quality drinks and enjoy the general mayhem that ensues when silly things get yelled at a screen. What this is going to look like is probably best illustrated by the photos below. All of them taken by Christian Gyllensvärd at last week’s match viewing and charity auction, during which more than $7.000 were raised for clean drinking water in developing countries. To those of you who still wish to contribute to the good cause: There will be a batch of very special pins (see header) available at the bar, generously manufactured and donated by Joly MacFie of punkcast. These won’t last long and all proceeds go to Viva con Agua.

Viva Con Agua Fundraiser w/live bands

Tomorrow, Saturday 19th, the East River Pirates and East River Bar host a charity auction for Viva con Agua. Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli is a charitable organisation based in St. Pauli, Hamburg, Germany, campaigning for clean drinking water worldwide. Aside from amazing items like an all inclusive trip (air fare, hotel, VIP match tickets) to a FC St.Pauli soccer game in Hamburg  for 2 people in April 2012, there will be live music and a soccer match viewing.

FC St.Pauli plays arch enemy Hansa Rostock  and the match will be shown  on the big screen at East River Bar. The shindig starts at 7pm sharp. Please come out and support Viva con Agua. Make a difference while getting shitfaced with New York City’s St.Pauli supporters club. A flyer with detailed info is below.

National German TV covers Brooklyn's FC St Pauli Fan Club

The East River Bar located at 97 S 6th St in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is the home of New York City’s very own FC St Pauli fan club called East River Pirates. FC St Pauli is a 1st division Bundesliga soccer club based in Hamburg, Germany and widely known for its ‘anti-establishment’ supporter base. For the second time within the last couple of years, national German TV stopped by to produce a little piece about the East River Pirates. The feature aired in Germany last Saturday as part of the religiously watched ‘Sportschau’ and can also be seen online by clicking this link. The above mentioned older feature can be found here. If you are generally interested in $3 pints of beer and soccer with a punk rock edge, you are more than welcome to come out to one of the upcoming East River Bar broadcasts of a St Pauli match. A match schedule can be found on the East River Pirates’ website.
