Show Alert- White Ring and oOoOO at Glasslands Gallery 1/21

Loud and Quiet

It seems as if “Witch House” is becoming the “Chillwave” of 2012. This eerie genre of music is pretty broad if you think of it. From compressed vocals to digital downbeats, Witch House has some kind of dark allurement that is seducing every listener. This Saturday, our own New York witch duo,White Ring will be performing at Glasslands Gallery with oOoOO headlining and Sibian & Faun as the night’s opening band. As a cherry on top, F∆I†H will be spinning a DJ set. The evening is promised to be atmospherically dusky with bodies swaying to the pulses of “IxC999″ and everything else White Ring feeds. Tickets are still available so get on it before they are magically gone, click here.

Snowmine, The Conveyor, Illuminator, Teletextile at Glasslands [Photos]

As previously mentioned, January 5th was an evening of celebration. Below are some visual recaps from the night. If you’re not familiar with any of these Brooklyn bands, click on their band name for music networks.

Show Alert- Snowmine at Glasslands Gallery 1/5

230 Publicity

Happy New Year! If you missed a party on New Year’s Eve, we have something to make up for it. This Thursday, local acts are gathering at Glasslands Gallery for a Popgun celebration. The headlining band is Snowmine, one of my personal favorites from 2011. Snowmine consists of five handsome men with the talents of creating tribal nostalgia. Their music can be received as low waves of synthed indie rock mixed with splashes of orchestrated pop. Laminate Pet Animal (Snowmine’s album) is a collection of delightful body treatments.

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson Fronts Brooklyn Supergroup Ill Fits

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson not only has the marathon of given names but he is also the front man to the new bona fide indie supergroup, Ill Fits.  The group consists of members from some of the buzz world’s finest such as MGMT, Amazing Baby and Foreign Islands.  The band only has one track available online but trust us it is a GREAT one– listen to ‘blood & devotion’ below for a smattering of post-punk art-rocky goodness.  The track almost plays like a modern cross breed between Television and David Bowie and that’s some pretty great company to keep if you ask us.  If you like what you hear (you will) go check them out this Saturday at Glasslands with Young Magic and Mon Khmer.

Brooklyn’s Sea Monsters play Glasslands tonight

It is safe to say that we are officially in “dog days of summer” territory and there is no better soundtrack to get you out of your slump than the beach ready jams of Sea Monsters.  Maritime themed tracks like “fin in the water” and “dark Vineyard day” come complete with front man DL Tashjian’s malkmusian bellow and shreddy guitar riffs.  The Brooklyn based trio paint a very pretty picture and happily transport you to Malibu circa 1995.  Give them a listen… we DARE you not to hang loose bro.

And you’re in luck! Tonight they play Glasslands with Saint Motel, Follower and Freshkills. GREAT SHOW DOORS AT 8:30PM– get there on early to see Sea Monsters and stay late for Saint Motel and the radness in between.
