You can now own the Endless Summer taco truck

endlesssummer

The Endless Summer taco truck, a Williamsburg staple for the past half decade has been mysteriously absent from Bedford Ave. It turns out the owners are auctioning off the truck on eBay. Bids start at $45,000, or you can buy the whole operation including permits for $60,000. From the auction:

The globally renown Endless Summer Taco Truck is now for sale. The enterprise that started the vending trend in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (and arguably ignited the worldwide food truck craze) has nourished literally hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers and established itself as a landmark in the NYC food-culture landscape.

After 5 years, both owners are relocating from NYC and have decided to sell. This is a perfect opportunity to maintain a well-established moneymaking operation or re-brand it to satisfy your own culinary vision. Either way the Bedford Ave. location and circumstances are ideal.

Anyone want to chip in to buy this and travel cross-country all summer handing out free tacos while filming a documentary about it? Ok good, me neither.

Dos Toros Celebrates Brooklyn Opening In Dollar Menu Style

In other food related news, we received an email today titled “IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING BURRITOS,” so naturally, mouths watered and we were inclined to open it. Turns out, one of our favorite Mexican eateries is joining the Williamsburg family at 189 Bedford Ave. tomorrow:

As you may have already heard, Dos Toros Taqueria, the popular Mission-style burrito joint, will be opening in Williamsburg this Wednesday, April 3rd. Since this is an exciting opening for both the Dos Toros team and New Yorkers alike, the brothers behind the horns wanted to make it extra special. In honor of the eatery’s first location outside of Manhattan, the newly opened Dos Toros will celebrate dollar-menu style! Leo and Oliver Kremer, founders of Dos Toros, will be selling each food item for only $1. See below for deal information:

·         1 burrito = $1

·         1 quesadilla = $1

·         2 tacos = $1

·         Chips + Guac or Salsa = $1

·         Restrictions & Additional Details: Limit one item per person. Drinks normal price. Deal valid 4/3/13 from 12:00pm-10:00pm.

Rockaway Rooftop Tacos in Greenpoint

Although Rockaway Taco is now closed for Winter, there’s still one more chance to eat their delicious food in 2010. Tomorrow night from 6:30-9:00pm they’ll be visiting Eagle Street Rooftop Farms in Greenpoint to cook up the radishes from the farm that have just been harvested. The cookout is open to all, there’s a bucket donation for food costs. To attend, please RSVP to GrowingChefs@gmail.com.

Rockaway Taco

Rockaway Taco, A Selby Film from the selby on Vimeo.

Did you make it down to Rockaway this summer? No? They are still open, so for the love of god, go get a black bean plantain quesadilla.

Williamsburg Bridge Taqueria

We ‘re super excited for the Temporary Taqueria preview happening in two weeks under the Williamsburg Bridge. Tacos made from local ingredients, greens from rooftop farmers, coffee from Blue Bottle, chocolate from Mast Brothers, and specials on beer! There’s nothing more that we want…other than turning the temporary status into permanent.

Tickets are $8, buy them here.
