The film’s cast list is jaw dropping, bearing big names like Cate Blanchett (as one version of Dylan, above), Richard Gere (Dylan again, but this time doing his best “Billy the Kid” impression), and Heath Ledger. But even more impressive is the soundtrack that includes some of the most influential artists in music today. From Eddie Vedder to Stephen Malkmus, Iron & Wine to Sonic Youth, Jeff Tweedy to Charlotte Gainsbourg.
And here’s a longer clip featuring Christian Bale singing a gospel tune, after the jump:

looks contrived, boring and gimmicky – next
Why the hell can’t the baby boomers give it a rest. OK, so we’ve got no anthems to call our own, but at least we aren’t shackled by some bygone era that wasn’t even interesting. And getting a chick to play a dude doesn’t make it moreso.
Re: that “… bygone era that wasn’t even interesting”, even leaving aside the whole of pop music history and it’s effects, that’s an interesting comment during a time when the most interesting thing about almost all independent music (the only even vaguely interesting contemporary music) is which influences from bygone eras (’60s, ’70s, ’80s and in the case of dance music even the ’90s already) they choose to squeeze into like a new pair of skin tight jeans.
BURN.
