Williamsburg Waterfront: Pool Party Two; Also Flyswatter Dude
If you weren’t at yesterday’s Pool Party, you could have fooled us. It was packed. It was a great time all around with Dirty Projectors proving they warrant the hype and Magnolia Electric Co. demonstrating why they’re one of the best alt country acts to come along since Son Volt. Next week, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, The Black Lips, Health, and Grupo Fantasmo.
Hopefully, that dancing dude with the fly swatter in his shorts will be there too (check him out after the jump).

Blonde Redhead brother (I think it was Simone) was there last week too. Actually, I’ve been seeing him at a lot of events lately. He’s in a social mood!
Both of the Blonde Redhead brothers were there. It was funny.

Does anyone except me feel that the parties at the pool were somehow more special? I mean, I like the skyline backdrop and the water view, etc but it doesn’t feel so unique anymore. Just another big outdoor festival with no shade.
I think the act of entering that huge enclosed pool was like going into a clubhouse with thousands of like-minded potential friends. “Damn, look at all of us, and we all dig Manman?!?” It was somehow cooler and less generic than the current location.
